The brain is a complex tool, a muscle, and an organ. My grandmother is starting to go. 80 years young, the Alzheimer's is getting her. It shakes me, things rarely do. Today I spent cleaning out her place because she was put into a "home" a place where old folks go to be forgotten. I am sorry now I didn't see her more, visit more, stop in and say hi. I can visit her now, but she may not remember me or recognize me. Every holiday she says it is her last, I take it as a joke, an old lady wanting attention, she may not see the next one. I'm Sorry

I feel very sorry for you,are you still a child? Because you certainly sound like one. Im very sorry for, putting old people in nursing homes, is just WRONG! Have you ever visited one? They are gross, they have a mean staff, who are underpaid. They think that just because somebody is old, that they are just gonna die anyway. And that is why I think they SUCK!!! I am 44 yrs old. And I still have a Grandmother, whom is 84, respectively. and Ill be damned if I will ever let them put her in a nursing home. That is just such a COP OUT! Drop in un- announced, and just see how the place is, Im sure you figure it out. By the way, would you like to be tossed into a HOME? <br />Take care& God bless. <br />T.C.
Terease, you have been watching to many movies. They are nothing like that. Im sure there are some out there like that, but i guess you could say i am somewhat intellegent in that area. My grandmother ran one for over 35 years. Not to mention 10 more people in this same area related to my grandmother or very close friends ran one also. All of them gave 3 home cooked meals a day. When my grandmother had to get rid or one person. They cried everytime. The people didn't want to leave that home in the least little bit. I have been to many meetings and other homes just like this and most peole that are placed in the homes end up loving it. Simply becasue someone cares about them. I mean the reason they are their is because their family claims to not have enough time to sit and take care of that other family member. Well thats bullcrap. If my parents ever get old enought they can't take care of theirselves ill hire one persn to sit with them. If people are so worried about those homes the take care of your own family!
Tereas, <br />sorry to burst your bubble, I am far from a child I am 28 this week, married two kids, The nursing home she is in is top dollar, clean and organized, it just suck s that as a grandchild I neglected to vist her more often in the past 11 years. I didnt place her in the home, my mother did because she can't watch her evryday like she needs.
